When Coco Meets Chanel

You might be curious what this blog was about when you saw the name “When Coco Meets Chanel”. It literally had nothing to do with two girls whose names are “Coco” and “Chanel”.

For years, I’ve always wanted to write something but was afraid of my English writing skills. (Well, let’s say English is not my first native language. I’m 100% Chinese and moved to Fargo, ND USA for love from Beijing, China in 2009. ) Also, due to the lack of persistence, I was afraid that I’d quit after a few days try. Then I thought maybe starting with logging my daily outfit/style would eventually help me improve my writing skills? (Well, I guess we will wait and see. )

This blog name hit me one day when I was doing my morning bathroom reading. (Come on, don’t tell me none of you have done that. 😉 ) Ms. Coco Chanel is my one and only fashion idol. She is everything about style. She is the style. Died at age 87, I can’t help wonder what if Ms. Coco time traveled back to her 20s. What would she say to herself? …

Ms. Coco Chanel

Or if any of us could time travel, what would you say to your young self?

Hi, I'm Vivian. I'm a mom of three beautiful boys (one of them is a golden retriever and his name is Chunk), a wife and a fanatic of shoes and Chanel. I was born and raised in southwest China. I met my husband in Beijing 2004 and was convinced move to Fargo, ND in late 2009. Since then, I have been living here with my family here in Fargo. I love fashion, music, food, travel and fitness. Stay in a healthy lifestyle is very important to me. I teach cycling classes at our local gyms weekly. I LOVE a sweaty workout which can hold me accountable for my own fitness. I'm very petite. They said "wonderful things always come in small packages." What a true statement! ;) I'm 4ft11. I wear size 4.5 for shoes. I buy size 5 for the majority of time since I can't find any size 4.5 shoes here in the states. My body measurements: 33-29-35 w/a 27 inch leg inseam I do this blog to journal my personal style, fitness journeys. I hope my posts can give you tips about a healthy life style that we are all looking for. Thank you for stopping by and feel free to share your opinions with me anytime. XOXO, Vivian

  1. Howdy! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog.
Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but
I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking
about creating my own but I’m not sure where to start.
Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Appreciate it

    1. Hi Lucille, thank you for your message. I would encourage everyone to start your own blog. You can choose WordPress.com or Blogger.com. Choosing a platform is the very important first step. The reason I chose WordPress.com was based on the reviews I read online and it has been highly used by lots of fashion/style bloggers. I’m sure Blogger.com is a very good platform too. I started one for business before, however I had issues on figuring out the customization. Personally speaking, I think WordPress.com is easier to use. Since I just started a couple of weeks ago, there’s still a lot for me to learn. I do spend lots of time on its forum to review the issues I was trying to tackle. Most of time, I was able to get the answers. Plus, youtube is a good resource too.
I hope these information could help and best of luck on creating your blog.
